The GSWA Corporate Council was formed in 2002. Initial members included ten local companies who wanted to help protect and preserve the water and land in the towns where their employees work, live or play. Current Corporate Council members include Honeywell, Kings Supermarkets, Integrated Communications, Peapack Gladstone Bank, Maersk Inc., Pfizer, PSEG, Schering-Plough, and Wyeth.
The Watershed Association and its Corporate Council members collaborate on a variety of projects that have impact in both the workplace and our communities. For example, four of our Corporate Council members have joined forces with the Watershed Association to help clean up our local streams, which by flowing into the Passaic River become a source of drinking water for over a million New Jersey residents. Other Corporate Council members help fund environmental education and outreach programs.
The Great Swamp Watershed Association strives to provide value to our partner Corporations. For example, the Watershed Association’s Conservation Management Area offers employee volunteer opportunities and community workdays. GSWA collaborates on a variety of public relations activities and facilitates good local press coverage. Corporate Council members can call on the organization for technical expertise on land management and for employee programs on water and land conservation and management. Finally, GSWA offers Council members a variety of outdoor events such as bird outings and nature hikes in the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge.
