Morris Township
Under the
auspices of the Morris County leadership group, Morris 2000,
these ten towns have formed a "10 Town Committee" to plan
the future of the watershed. Their goal is to produce effective,
enforceable, detailed legislation to preserve the Swamp's water
quality and quantity, diversity of plant and animal life, and
opportunities for recreation. The monthly meetings are open to the
public. Call any of the town halls or GSWA for the meeting dates.
Get Involved
Attend your local municipal meetings. Your town
may have a Planning Board, a Board of Adjustment, a Zoning Board, as
well as other committee meetings open to the public. As praiseworthy
as many of these folks are, some of them may not always have your best
interests at heart. In such cases if you and your neighbors aren't
there to protect yourselves, who will?
We will post the schedules of such meetings when we get them. A good
source will be your local paper, since towns are required by law to
post the notices of upcoming public meetings. When no time is given,
assume around 7:30 PM.

may have changed. Generally it is better to check your local paper or
call the town hall to confirm before heading out.
