Streamways Booklet Available to Members

A 24-page guide explaining the importance of conserving streamside land and describing the mechanisms for doing so has been published by GSWA.   Members may obtain copies at no charge by calling 973.966.1900.

Authored by Madison writer Harriet Honigfeld and designed by Harding's Don Hinkle, the guide is aimed specifically at those local residents whose property abuts the Upper Passaic River and Primrose Brook, the two most pristine streams that feed into the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge.

The booklet will become one part of a GSWA project aimed at creating "streamways" -- contiguous corridors of protected land -- along the two streams.  The project is an outgrowth of the Greenway and Open Space Plan, published by GSWA in 1997.
