Where Does My Open Space Tax Money Go?
All counties in New Jersey, as well as many municipalities, collect an open space tax. This tax is designed to raise money for the preservation of undeveloped land throughout the state. Without any open space funds, it is estimated that developers would be able to develop all remaining land in New Jersey by the year 2050.
