Watershed Group Prepares for 20th Anniversary Gala

Great Swamp Watershed Association (GSWA) of Madison, in honor of its 20th Anniversary, is gearing up for a Gala Dinner Dance Celebration. Volunteers Roger Edwards of Gillette, Nancy Conger of Millington, and Gina Snell of Morristown are seen preparing to mail nearly 2,500 invitations to members and friends of the Watershed Association.

The Festive Annual Dinner will take place on Friday, November 16, 2001 at the Westin Hotel in Morristown. "The Roaring 20" will be the theme for the evening, which will include dinner, dancing, honoring special guests, and a silent auction.

In keeping with the evening’s theme, Harvey Kaiser and the Kansas City Sound will provide swing dancing. Special guests to be honored include Robert Atkyns, the Honorable Richard Bagger, Joanne Casadeval, Bobby Defino, Sally Dudley, Abigail Fair, Helen Fenske, the Honorable Rodney Frelinghuysen, Cheryl Good, Michael Henderson, Penny Hinkle, William Koch, Sarah Dean Link, the Honorable Robert Martin, Nancy Miller-Rich, Liz Parker, Martine Redman, Bette Schultz, Jim Shissias, and John Thonet. Corporate sponsorship is being provided by American Home Products, AT&T, Briarpatch, Integrated Communications, King’s Super Markets, Novartis, PSE&G, Recorder Community Newspapers, Schering-Plough, and Thonet Associates.

Invitations were sent to members, but are available to anyone who’s interested. Anyone able to make a donation to the silent auction, needing more information, or an invitation should call the Watershed Association at 973-966-1900.

Great Swamp owes its survival to the remarkable efforts of the citizens of New Jersey, who continue to fight to protect this precious natural jewel. Celebrating its 20th Anniversary as a non-profit organization, the Watershed Association relies solely on membership and contributions to protect the continued health of our watershed’s area. If you’re not already a member, become one today. For more information, call (973) 966-1900, or visit their website at www.greatswamp.org.
