Great Swamp Watershed Association Plans Workshop For Educators
K – 12 educators are invited to attend an all day Project WET workshop on December 9th at the Morris County Outdoor Education Center, 247 Southern Boulevard in Chatham Township.
The workshop, co-sponsored by the Watershed Association and Morris County Outdoor Education Center is based on the Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) materials. The workshop will run from 9 AM – 3 PM, with morning refreshments and lunch provided.
The workshop is an interdisciplinary, supplemental water education program for formal and non-formal educators, K-12. It is hands-on, action packed and informative!
Teachers will learn by doing, experiencing activities they can use to teach all kinds of water concepts from the water cycle, to water properties, aquatic ecosystems, and water pollution prevention. All participants will receive a copy of the Project WET curriculum and activity guide. The guide is a collection of innovative, water-related activities that are easy to use and incorporate a variety of educational formats.
Participants will receive Approved Professional Development Credits from the NJEA.
Best of all, the workshop is FREE to educators. Call Hazel England at 973-538-3500 x20 to register or for more information, or contact her at hazele@greatswamp.org.
