Summer is over (or at least it feels that way!), school is about to start, and the ten towns of the Great Swamp Watershed are starting to gather their energies for the Autumn round of festivals, street fairs, Back To School Nights and fall sports.
At the Great Swamp Watershed Association this month we greeted our new Executive Director, Joan Fischer!
Joan spent the summer in Maine, but she now gets to meet trustees, become acquainted with our rather eccentric computer system, have sit downs with staff to learn about local issues, stream monitoring, the Membership Database, school and teacher education programs, and the dozens of other activities that we do to help preserve water and land in your town.
As Joan puts it, “It is so wonderful to be starting my job with the GSWA at the start of my favorite season. The fall fills me with energy and focus, and I am delighted get down to work on so many new and valuable projects, issues and goals.”
Welcome, Joan!
