Great Swamp Watershed Association Announces its Spring Programs
Harding Township — The Great Swamp Watershed Association has a variety of exciting environmental and educational programs on tap this spring.
GSWA’s Citizen Advocacy Program, designed to help local area residents learn to become effective advocates for improvement in their communities, is being offered on Thursday, March 26, at the Harding Township Municipal Building, and Thursday, April 30, at the Bernards Township Library. Each program begins at 7:00 p.m. with a talk, followed by a Q&A. There is no charge and refreshments will be served. Presented by GSWA, these programs are sponsored by The Watershed Institute.
GSWA continues its series of monthly Breakfast Briefings this spring. The public is invited to a complimentary hot breakfast and cool discussion on a range of environmental topics presented by guest speakers and environmental specialists. Each breakfast meeting will be held on the second Tuesday of the month (March 10, April 14, May 12 and June 9) from 8:00-9:30 a.m. at GSWA Headquarters, 568 Tempe Wick Rd. in Harding Township. Seating is limited to 50 people so advance reservations are requested. Donations are appreciated.
Boy and girl scouts aged 7-10 can learn some amazing stuff about the Great Swamp watershed through hands-on activities and games at the Watershed Fun Scout Night on Friday, March 13 from 6:30-8:00p.m. at GSWA Headquarters. The cost is $10 per scout (adults free) and includes refreshments.
Join GSWA on a discovery-based early evening stroll through the organization’s 50-acre Conservation Management Area as we explore the Secret Places of the Watershed on Wednesday, March 25, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. This forested wetland on Tiger Lily Lane in Harding Township contains vernal pools, streams, and woodland with wildflowers and wildlife aplenty. This program is free for members. For non-members, the fee is $10 per adult, $5 for each child five and over, and $30 per family.
