Helen Fenske Visitor Center
This event is free and open to the general public
Join us for an adventure at the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge and bring your camera! We will kick-off this private tour with a brief talk by Nic Platt, GSWA Board President, on the history of the Great Swamp that nearly became a jetport. Next up, a special behind-the-scenes tour of the wildlife management area, which is not open to the general public. Refuge volunteers/staff and GSWA staff will be available to help identify wildlife and migratory birds. We may even be graced by a bald eagle or two! Come help us celebrate the 60th anniversary of the newspaper article that sparked the saving of the Great Swamp. This tour is co-sponsored by GSNWR and GSWA. Registration is required.
