GSWA Presents Free Virtual Gala & Silent Auction – Oct 1

MORRISTOWN, NEW JERSEY – The Great Swamp Watershed Association (GSWA) invites the public to join their free Virtual Gala and Silent Auction. The organization’s largest fundraiser of the year takes place Thursday, October 1, 7:00-8:00 PM.

“We had to get very creative this year to transform our Gala from an in-person social event to a dynamic virtual experience,” said GSWA Executive Director, Sally Rubin. “I promise this will be short, informative, and enjoyable. I hope you will tune in and learn about all the great work we do. And you don’t need to get dressed up or find a babysitter!

All who attend the GSWA Virtual Gala will be entered to win one of two door prizes: one mid-way through the event – a bottle of 2010 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Les Vercots Dubreuil-Fontaine Rouge, Burgundy; and the other at the end of the show – one bottle of 2006 Azelia di Luigi Scavino Barolo and one bottle of 2008 Aurelio Settimo Barolo. Both winners will be announced at the end of the show and must be online to qualify.

GSWA is pleased to offer participants an opportunity to enhance this free event by purchasing one of three Celebration Viewing Packages to enjoy during the Virtual Gala. Two packages include red and white fine wine selections and gourmet snacks. A third, non-alcoholic option contains the same high-end edibles and sparkling cider. This offer is available to addresses located within 30 miles of Morristown, NJ and will be delivered during the week of September 28 prior to the event. Delivery is free. Details and order information can be found at GreatSwamp.org. Buy one for yourself and send one to a friend, customer, client, or colleague!

The Virtual Gala will once again feature their popular online silent auction with unique items and experiences. The auction goes live on September 26 and remains open through the Virtual Gala, closing on October 4.

GSWA would like to thank their 2020 Virtual Gala Sponsors: NJ American Water, Adrienne  & Reed Auerbach, BASF Corporation, FirstEnergy Foundation, Glenmede Investment and Wealth Management, Newmark Knight Frank – Valuation & Advisory, PSEG, and

Senlac Ridge Partners.

This year’s Gala announcement comes on the heels of the organization’s third annual Great Swamp Great Music festival. As the second largest fundraiser of the year after the Gala, the rescheduled festival exceeded its goals while providing a safe, outdoor entertainment event for the public while following all established COVID-19 safety protocols.

GSWA serves as a leading advocate and defender of New Jersey’s precious natural resources, promoting an understanding of the importance of protecting our drinking water and preserving the natural beauty of our environment.
