GSWA Awarded American Water Grant

ew Vernon, NJ – May 5, 2025 – Great Swamp Watershed Association (GSWA) announced today that it was awarded an American Water Charitable Foundation 2025 Water and Environment grant, focusing on expanding water quality monitoring in the lower Passaic River.

“We are deeply grateful for the generous support of the American Water Charitable Foundation,” said Bill Kibler, Executive Director of the Great Swamp Watershed Association. “This grant will help us expand our vitally important water quality monitoring farther downstream on the Passaic River and give us a better understanding of water quality throughout our watershed.”

The Water and Environment grant is part of the American Water Charitable Foundation’s Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program. The Foundation is a philanthropic non-profit organization established by American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., supporting high-impact projects and initiatives that further American Water’s commitment to the communities it serves.

Bacteria monitoring site CMA 2 is located along Silver Brook at GSWA’s Conservation Management Area in Harding Township, NJ.
