As promised, Dave's focus was on the diverse weather and climate of the Garden State and the recent events of Sandy and Ida. If you are a winner of a Silent Auction item, they are available for picked up at the GSWA Headquarters at 568 Tempe Wick Rd., Morristown, NJ. Call to make arrangements at 973-538-3500. Certificates can be mailed but packages need to picked up. If you need shipping, it is the winning bidders responsible to cover shipping costs. The evening's Keynote Speaker, Dave Robinson, is the New Jersey State Climatologist and a distinguished professor at Rutgers University. The Plants for Pollinators Online Sale is operated with the promotion and volunteers from Community Plant Sale Partners that include ten towns and seven community organizations. Our joint goal is to foster broad adoption of native plant gardens across our area to create necessary habitat for the pollinator insects and bird communities that are foundation elements of our local ecosystem – pooling our private yards to create what the popular lecturer and entomologist Doug Tallamy describes as a Homegrown National Park™. Join us for our 2nd annual Source to Sea 80-mile virtual challenge where you will virtually travel the distance of the Passaic River.  Run, walk, bike, snowshoe, ski, dance, shovel, vacuum, roll - any indoor or outdoor activity you choose (as long as it is powered by you) - for 80 miles, the length of the Passaic River. This can be done from anywhere in the world. You will have just over 8 weeks to chip away at this goal that runs Saturday, January 21 through Sunday, March 26 from literally anywhere in the world! Therefore, we've made the difficult decision to postpone it to Saturday, May 6. We realize this may be a big inconvenience, but feel it is necessary. We will email all registrants to confirm if you wish to be on the map for the new date.
